Jack Grealish will become a Manchester City player in the next 24 hours and City fans are absolutely buzzing after a £100m deal was agreed with Aston Villa.
Grealish has been linked with a move all summer but the transfer was delayed with the player looking to stay focused on Euro 2020 with England. He was part of the squad that made it all the way to the final but lost on penalties to Italy at Wembley, and this week returned to training with Villa.
But City submitted a British-record offer for the 25-year-old last week and Villa have accepted the bid after holding talks with their captain, who made it clear he wants to move on in order to step up to the next level and challenge for trophies on a regular basis.
With news breaking over social media, City fans reacted with delight at the news that they’ve finally got their man after weeks of negotiations and rumours.
Grealish has an outside chance of making his City debut in the Community Shield against Leicester this Saturday at Wembley Stadium.
However with minimal training since his holiday, a more realistic debut may be in the Premier League opening game of the season against Tottenham Hotspur on August 15th in north London.
Grealish will undergo a medical and sign a contract before being presented as a City player.
