Manchester City’s attention will now turn to their Premier League opener against Tottenham on Sunday.
City brought their less-than-ideal pre-season to a fitting close on Saturday as they fell to a 1-0 defeat to Leicester City in the Community Shield.
Now the Blues have six days to prepare for the first game of their title defence away at Spurs, with Harry Kane’s future still uncertain.
City’s top transfer target has returned to Tottenham following his summer break, but it’s unclear if he will be involved on Sunday.
“Harry is with us,” Spurs boss Nuno Espirito Santo said following his side’s friendly victory over rivals Arsenal on Sunday. “He has to quarantine at The Lodge but he has already done his first day with the sports scientists, but he is with us.”
“I will speak with Harry as soon as possible.”
Meanwhile, Lionel Messi has confirmed he is leaving Barcelona.
All the day’s Man City news in one place.
