A man has suffered potentially life-threatening injuries following a horror crash on the M6.
The smash, which involved a lorry, a white panel van and a silver Mercedes car happened on the southbound stretch of the motorway in Cheshire shortly after 4:15am.
Emergency services including police and paramedics raced to the scene between junction 19 for Knutsford and 20 for Lymm.

The driver of the Mercedes, a man in his 50s, was taken to hospital.
His injuries are believed to be serious and life-threatening Cheshire Police said.
As a result of the crash there was also a diesel spillage and damage to the central reservation barrier.
And the motorway remains closed this morning as officers carry out enquiries into the crash, and clear the fuel and debris which police said spanned all three lanes.
“Diversions are in place and motorists are asked to avoid the area” police added.
There are reports of drivers having been trapped inside the closure for over two and a half hours.

There are currently five miles of queues approaching the closure, leading to delays of over an hour.
The diversion route takes drivers down the M56 and A556 which are also now extremely busy.
“If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time” Highways England said.
“Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey.” they added.
