City’s cross-town rivals Manchester United aren’t enjoying the best of times right now, and it’s being reported that a former City boss has heaped even more misery on them.

Pep Guardiola’s hunt for a striker feels like it’s been going on for years, so Ederson has decided to lend a helping hand and revealed the striker he would most like to move to the Etihad Stadium.

It’s a no from Roberto

What a man.

Roberto Mancini’s spell at the Etihad Stadium may not have gleaned quite as many Premier League trophies as Guardiola’s stint at City, yet the Italian is still a revered figure on the blue side of Manchester.

And he’s now cemented his place in the hearts of City fans following the news he turned down United’s offer to become their new manager.

Christian Falk reports that United approached the Italy boss with regards to the vacant post, yet Mancini turned them down as he’s fully focused on guiding Italy to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

To be honest, I wouldn’t care if Mancini turned them down because he was fully focused on getting his new kitchen fitted, the fact he said no is enough for me.

What a legend this man is

Mancini’s time at the Etihad was a rollercoaster of emotions with plenty of highs, and he’s just confirmed what we already knew – we love Mancini.

City are in safe hands with Ederson

City’s pursuit of a striker over the summer was no secret, yet after failing to sign Harry Kane or Cristiano Ronaldo, Ederson has decided to help out – well, kind of.

During an interview with TNT Sports (via Sport Witness), Ederson was asked which of his Brazil teammates he would like to join him at City. Neymar? Marquinhos? Casemiro? Apparently not.

“I’d bring the pigeon (the nickname for Richarlison due to his celebration). For the chats. He’s a goof, a clown. There are many words I can put on him.”

In fairness to Ederson, when you’re as good as City then there really is no point dreaming about signing marquee names like Neymar and Casemiro.

Guardiola’s men have been prone to an occasional off day this season, but when they’re at their best they’re unquestionably one of the best sides in Europe.

That being said, I’m not quite sure I’d be too keen on Richarlison being drafted in as Sergio Aguero’s replacement.

Is there anything Raheem can’t do?

Speaking of City players with their fingers in many pies.

When he’s not scoring in the Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain, it seems Sterling fancies launching a career in radio.

The Evening Standard report that the England international has been named as one of the guest editors for BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, with the details of his show set to be released in the coming weeks.

BBC Radio 4 have developed a tradition for handing over the editorial reins to celebrities around Christmas time, and Sterling has been named as one of this year’s guests.

What a daily round-up this has been. Mancini becomes an even bigger legend, Ederson is out on scouting missions and Sterling is going to be a radio star. What a club.
