I know Halloween is a hard time to plan there are so many different things going on around our city where do you start?
In my effort to make things easier (for myself, but lucky you) I have compiled a list of the Halloween-esque things happening (and some delicious specials stores are offering) over the next couple of weeks. I’ve sent emails and scoured Facebook, and yet I think I am still missing some things so please feel free to share with the class and comment or send me an email ([email protected]) and I’ll add it to the list here!
For your convenience I’ve put them in order of date and time so we can all move zombie-like day by Halloween-filled day:
Starting off the Halloween Festivities strong:
October 23rd from 4:30-5:30 p.m. we have the Manchester Police Athletic League holding their Trunk-or-Treat
October 24th from 5-7:30 p.m. the Millyard Museum is having an Open House and Craft Beer Tasting (OK not Halloween themed but who doesn’t need a drink to kick off a crazy week of costumes and candy?)
October 25th party in costume with Greg and the Morning Buzz at the Doubletree by Hilton Manchester Downtown Hotel at Buzz Bash 2019 from 8-11:30 p.m.
October 26th head to McGarvey’s Halloween Costume Party starting at 9:00 p.m. make sure you have a great costume the best one wins a $100.00 prize!
October 27th you may want to start by running off some of the energy you’ve built up running from event to event grab your family and don your best running costumes for Millennium Running’s Trick-or-Trot 3k. It starts at Noon so you’ll have time to rest after your night at McGarvey’s.
Don’t take your running shoes off yet: October 27th after your run jog over to Stark Brewing for their 25th Anniversary & Oktoberfest celebration! Happening from 2 – 6 p.m. bring the family to play in the bounce house paint pumpkins have a few beers and so much more.
Now it’s time to work your pipes: ALSO on October 27th The New Hampshire Gay Men’s Chorus and Doogie’s Bar and Grill are hosting a Karaoke and Halloween Party! Sing your heart out from 6-10 p.m. and compete for the best costume to win a great prize.
Now is your chance to take a little breather. Get some sleep rest all you need, make the necessary touch ups to your costume. You have until October 30th to get your act together for another crazy couple days.
October 30th the Manchester City Public Library is having a Monster Bash! From 3:30-5:00 learn how to walk like a zombie trick-or-treat through the library in your best costume get wrapped up like a mummy and more!
You’ve now made it to Halloween!
October 31st before you go trick-or-treating in your own neighborhood hit up Halloween at City Hall and show off your costume grab a book at the bookmobile and say “Hi!” to Mayor Craig from 3-5 p.m.
On October 31st once you’ve finished at City Hall (and your neighborhood) hit up Margaritas on Elm Street for their Dia De Los Muertos celebration! Don’t worry there’s plenty of time, this celebration of life starts at 4 p.m. and for those of you who are super ambitious (or you have Friday off) goes until 1 a.m. with delicious specials on- you guessed it- Margaritas.
I recognize you might be a little partied out at this point however; we’re not done yet.
Hop Knot realizes the state you may be in the day after Halloween so obviously they’re hosting a Halloween Hangover Party! Just because we’ve reached November 1st doesn’t mean Halloween is over. At 8 p.m. Put your costume back on (or for those of you still wearing it keep your costume on) to participate in the costume contest enjoy music games, and pumpkin pie drink specials!
Full disclosure here: this isn’t really a Halloween event but it still includes costumes so I’m counting it. If you settled on a 1920’s flapper is THE costume for you The Roaring 20s at the Currier for their 100th anniversary is definitely for you. Starting at 7 p.m. this event celebrates a great Manchester institute and the night includes dancing hors d’oeuvres a prosecco toast and open galleries for everyone’s enjoyment.
Hair of the Dog is probably your best bet to get through the weekend after Halloween. On November 2nd sleep in a littles you’re ready at 9:30 p.m. to head to The Shaskeen’s Annual Halloween Bash. If you turn into a pumpkin at midnight you might win cash for best costume I’d give you even more credit if you did that trick in the photo booth so we could see the magic…
Congratulations! You’ve reached it to ALMOST the end of my list. I have one last stop for you on this whirlwind we call Halloweek(s).
So it’s now November 3rd maybe you don’t want to wear your costume anymore. That’s totally fine you can head to Cheddar and Rye at 7 p.m. for their event 7even Deadly Sins. There you’ll see a menagerie of misfits who have succumbed to sin put on display as vignettes of vice and debauchery.
That was the last event I have on my list! I’m not done yet though- here are some things to check out if you can’t make it to the things I’ve listed but still want to enjoy the season.
